Antlers on the wall can also be alive !!
Our new Epi-Cerium concept allows you to admire the fascinatingly growing staghorn fern as a living picture on your wall at home. The Platy cerium bifurcatum grows epiphytically on a piece of cork and is connected to a water reservoir with a string. The fern only takes as much water as it really needs, so you can't go wrong! (Except forgetting to refill the reservoir regularly ;)).
General information
General information
Which plant develops different leaves for different tasks? This very rare characteristic is what distinguishes the staghorn fern (Platycerium). It forms drooping fronds that carry the spores for further reproduction. Each leaf has its own shape and different size. In addition to the fronds, sterile mantle leaves also grow, which protect the epiphytic plant from drying out and damage. If the mantle leaves die, they turn brown and remain on the plant. The plant is thus protected and can use the nutrients available from the dead leaves to feed itself. Isn't that incredibly intelligent?
There are 18 different species of Platycerium (staghorn fern) worldwide, which belong to the Platycerium family.
care instructions
care instructions
Epi-Cerium should always have enough water available, so it is necessary to keep refilling the water reservoir. Epi-Cerium does not need a lot of light, so it can be hung where it will look best! During the growing season from March to September, you should add weakly concentrated fertilizer every other watering.
